There are many reason why a dog shakes – such as pain, fear, anxiety and nerves. If your dog hates thunder, or fireworks you may well see them shaking and trying to hide. There’s also a rare disease called Addisons disease.
My new book, Problem Pooch to Perfect Pet: Book 1 Troublesome to Tranquil, describes why dog do the things they do and gives you hints, tips and advice about sixteen common dog behaviour problems
Whenever your dog reacts to anything, distance (and time) are your friends. If you can, move away from whatever is causing your dog to react as quickly as possible and find somewhere quieter to pause and wait for your dog to calm down.
The only sure-fire way to prevent your dog stealing food is good management – never leave food unattended anywhere your dog might be able to reach it. Otherwise practice makes perfect – for your dog!
You can now order a print copy from Amazon – and you definitely can order the ebook Kindle version, which costs only £3.99
I tell you how to deal with jumping up and many more problem behaviours in my new book, Problem Pooch to Perfect Pet book 1: Troublesome to Tranquil.
Dogs that are scared by thunder can be difficult to help. Your
friend or neighbours, who have always had dogs, might tell you to use a covered crate; or not to reassure your dog because you’ll “feed the fear”.
Neither is true.
The new book covers sixteen common problem behaviours you might face with your dog as well as priceless information about why your dog does what he does and the secret 3-step formula to changing any behaviour you don’t like in your own dog.
In my new book you’ll get explanations, advice and
tips to deal with six common over-the-top annoying behaviours such as jumping up, unwanted eliminations, humping, destroying things and attacking household appliances
