Just occasionally your dog will show some problem behaviour because he has an underlying medical problem. If your pet has a behaviour problem, please check with your vet that there is not a physical or medical issue first. If your dog gets the all clear from your vet, then please do book help from us whenever you need.
Chronic pain in dogs can cause behavioural problems, changes in posture, changes in appearance and loss of mobility. If your dog has two or more of these then it’s fairly likely he has a muscle problem. And most muscle problems in dogs will also cause a neck issue.

The first step in any training is to be clear about exactly what the end result will look like; to decide exactly what you want the dog’s response to be. This is the planning stage.
Why is choice so important? Because it gives your dog a feeling of being in control. If he feels he has control over what you do with him, he’ll be far more willing to engage with you. If your dog actively chooses to engage with you, training is far, far easier.
If you focus on your dog’s faults – typical human foible -that colours how you view him or her. You see your dog as “bad” or “untrainable” or even “dangerous”. It’s too easy to forget about the good stuff.
Why not do something different with your dog today? Change your usual walking route; go somewhere new; play some scent games; revise your training games; or teach a new trick. Your Perfect Pet training manual will give you some ideas.
