How to stop your dog freaking out during kennel cough vaccination

This week’s Talking Tip is all about how to teach your dog to be comfortable having intranasal injections, such as kennel cough.

Having a liquid squirted up your nose isn’t particularly nice and can make some dogs freak out. So teaching your dog to be comfortable with this is important if you want them to have this, or a similar, vaccine.

Take your time over this training and make sure your dog is happy with each stage before moving onto the next – I had to show them quickly to make the video, but please take your time over the training.

You can find today’s Talking Tip here along with all the others from previous weeks.

Why not subscribe to our YouTube channel too?  There’s a lot there already, including the monthly series of videos of Cali’s progress as a puppy.  We’ll be posting more videos over the coming weeks and months and subscribing will make sure you don’t miss any.

Finally, please do write in and ask if you have a question you’d love us to answer. I want to make sure these Talking Tips are useful to you.

Enjoy!

Have a good weekend,

Keep training and keep safe,

Carol

PS Don’t forget, the new book, Rescue Dog Rehoming Remedies, with a chapter from me, is available on Amazon here.   – it’s a great read!
