Online training works

“B is now three and had gone from loving all dogs to being what I perceived as unpredictable and bad tempered. It started as him pulling towards some other dog, to growling, lunging and latterly snapping. I knew he was uneasy around puppies and younger dogs, but this progressed to me not being able to predict his reaction. Sometimes we could have a lovely walk with him saying a nice hello and playing with all other dogs or other days, he was in ‘bad form’ and would lunge at some or all dogs.

I had spoken to my vet about my increasing concerns about B’s reactivity and I asked her advice re a behaviouralist and she said Carol was one of the best. As if by magic, a link came through about the Reactive Rover course.”

If your dog reacts to other dogs, you’re probably (and sensibly) worried about bringing them to a class. It’s difficult to concentrate and learn anything when you’re spending all your time trying to hold them, and a barking dog in your ear means it’s impossible to hear anything anyway.

Online training has proved very successful and popular – and it’s kept Down Dog going during lockdown! It works especially well for people with excitable or reactive dogs. Here’s what one owner said:

“It was perfect for me that this course was online as I wouldn’t have been able to attend otherwise, I was even able to listen in as I was putting my toddler to bed in the evening.

The regular catch ups were really important as someone asking me how things are going and if we’ve made any progress really made me want to have some progress to talk about!

Carol is a very clear communicator, calm and supportive and I would 100% recommend this course to other dog owners whether they have a reactive dog or not – don’t wait until you have a problem, learn how to avoid a problem arising in the first place.”

If you’d like to help your reactive, barking or fearful dog, or just learn what you need to make sure you avoid the problem, join us for our Reactive Rover Bootcamp: .https://www.downdog.co.uk/reactive

Helping people and their reactive dogs is something I find immensely satisfying. I’d love to help you, too.

Keep training and keep safe,

Carol
