No one and no dog is perfect

This beautiful weather at least helps as we cope with this viral uncertainty and worry. I may even have to get my shorts out. One (huge) benefit of not having any visitors is that the world is safe from the sight of my pale legs for now – or the sight of me in shorts at all…

I know some people are struggling with the continued lockdown – once you’ve caught up with all the Netflix series and box sets you enjoy you need something else to do. It’s a great time to do some training with your dog and especially to deal with that annoying habit you’ve been meaning to work on for a while now.

Perhaps it’s time to think about addressing the things you’ve let slip in your training or have never got round to training properly? No dog is perfect, every pet has some niggle, some slight imperfection, however small. For Tell Tails Thursday this week I’d love to hear about a problem you have with your dog – perhaps pulling on lead, or reacting to other dogs, or chewing your favourite slippers, or opening all the doors in the house (you know who you are, Gus).

Spend a minute or so replying to this email to tell me what one thing (or more than one) you’d like to change in your dog  – please.

In the unlikely event of you having the completely perfect dog, can I suggest you check out the ideas in my new book “Help! How to Socialise Your Puppy During Lockdown”, available from Amazon, which apply to older-than-puppy dogs too. It’ll give you ideas for things to do to entertain yourself and your dog during lockdown – with the added benefit of revising some key socialisation factors.

If (when) you do read it, please leave a review on Amazon for me.

Keep training and keep safe,

Carol
