To find something your dog can’t do as well as you want and do some training to help
You’ll need to put your thinking cap on for this one.
What does your dog not do as well as you’d like?
What thing would you like to improve?
This challenge isn’t about training something new, it’s all about improving something your dog can do – just not quite as well as you’d like.
Perhaps your dog won’t lie down when he’s asked.
Perhaps she begs at the table.
Perhaps he won’t come in from the garden when you call.
Perhaps she wriggles away when you’re grooming her
Perhaps he gets up after you’ve asked him to wait.
Your choice. What bit of training do you want to improve today?
Once you’ve decided what you want to work on, jot it down in your diary then write out a short plan for what you’re going to do over three short sessions today.
Once you’ve written down your plan, spend three short (5-10 minute) sessions today doing the training you agreed with yourself.
Make sure you also record the results of each session. What went well? What could you improve more? Do you need to tweak your training plan?
Off you go!
Keep training,
Carol
