Why small is always best

How big are yours?

(Your treats, I mean. What did you think?)

Treats are an important part of training. For nearly all dogs, food is a great reward and using treats helps the dog to learn things quicker.

But there are some problems with treats.

If you give too many your dog might get full before you’ve finished your training session, or you might risk unbalancing their diet if you give too many treats.

That’s why we recommend using your dog’s own food as treats with just a few added extras for fun and taste. And if you keep the pieces small you can get much more training for the same amount of food.

Our Talking Tip this week is all about treats – and specifically, the size of your treats.

You can find it here.

Enjoy!

Keep training,

Carol
