It was the first day of April and the clocks were striking thirteen…

That’s the opening line of 1984, a great classic book. Winston Smith wrestles with oppression in Oceania, a place where the Party scrutinises human actions with ever-watchful Big Brother looming over them. Winston defies a ban on individuality, expresses his thoughts in a diary and pursues a relationship with Julia.

Sometimes it feels like Big Brother is watching over us too and that George Orwell’s vision might be coming true. My phone knows where I am, my car tells me about current traffic situations, and Google offers me all sorts of things relevant to my interests and location. Spooky.

But I’m not Big Brother and I don’t know what you’ve been up to recently. I need to ask.

Did you complete our March challenge? Did you enjoy it? And did you and your dog learn – or relearn – much?

In the next few blogs we’ll be focusing on tips to help your dog to walk nicely on lead without pulling anywhere and everywhere.

Keep training,

Carol
