Four legged intruders disturb my sleep

Snuggled into bed, I was just dropping off to sleep when…

“Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo, woof, woof……woof……woof”

Fully awake now and seething, I was just about to go and ask him, not very politely, to be quiet, when he shut up.
I closed my eyes and started to drift off again…

“Woo-woo-woo-woo-woo, woof, woof……woof……woof”

Eyes flying open again, I noticed our security light had gone on. The alarm bark Gus had given was probably at a cat – or a fox or badger, we have those too, pottering round at night. But most likely a cat.

I hate cats at times. Especially since I found a pile of bird feathers near the bird table a few days ago. When I feed the birds each morning, there’s a blackbird who sits on the wall, watching. I throw him a few suet pellets which he gobbles up happily. But I haven’t seen my blackbird since feather-gate. Sad.

I hope Gus’s barking made the interloper think twice about coming close to the house, but I suspect any self-respecting cat (or fox, or badger) ignores his ravings, much as I wanted to do.

One of the most annoying problems owners face is barking.

Does your dog rave at other dogs or people when you’re out?

Do they explode into barking maniacs at stuff going past your home?

Do you live in fear of your neighbours complaining about your noisy hound?

Barking is a normal behaviour for dogs, but it can be REALLY annoying for us as owners.

Keep training and stay safe,

Carol
