It’s so simple – if you can’t call your dog back, then they shouldn’t be allowed off lead until you DO have some control. Keep your dog under control and show others how it is done – and if you need some help with that, give us a shout
What’s your beef?
We all have something that royally pees us off.
For me one of the main things that riles me is when someone has their dog off lead (and out of control) and it runs over, barks, jumps on and upsets Gus.
It’s bad enough when it happens with me, but when someone allows their dog to come over and bothers a client’s dog my blood boils like molten lava.
Steam comes out of my ears, and it takes all my self-control not to shout ‘CONTROL YOUR BL***Y DOG and PUT THEM ON LEAD”
(I can neither confirm nor deny if I’ve actually said that….)
We have some very strong opinions about dogs off leads
You should NEVER allow your dog to run over to another dog.
Especially if they are on lead. The polite thing to do is to call your dog and put them on lead too.
What, you can’t always get your dog back?
Then they should not be allowed off lead until you DO have some control. It is against the law to have a dog who is out of control – and if you can’t call them back whenever you want, then they are out of control.
Allowing your dog to bother another dog is rude, selfish and arrogant.
It is NOT “socialisation”.
It is NOT “fine, they only want to play”.
Would you allow someone to bother you?
Would you allow a stranger to run up to you and pester you, poke and prod you, fling their arms round you, and pushing and shoving you?
No?
Well don’t let your dog do that to other dogs.
I will continue my crusade against these rude, selfish, annoying owners until my dying day.
And I will continue to teach all our clients how they can protect themselves and their dogs from these idiots.
Keep your dog under control and show others how it is done.
