Does your Alaskan Malamute, Husky or Akita need a good groom?

This week’s Down Dog Digestible is all about grooming dogs with double coats, which include Alaskan Malamutes, Huskies and Akitas.

Catherine talks about how to groom and the importance of finding a groomer form the start with your double coated puppy and explains the tools you’ll need to keep your dog’s coat healthy in between the twice a year full groom.

She also explains why it is so important to teach these dogs to stand for a good period of time, as a full groom takes a long time. She warns of what happens if you don’t get the undercoat out – so start early.
