This week’s Talking Tip is all about those spooky times when your dog seems to know something before you do.
We chat about how it’s not uncommon for dogs to know owners are pregnant before any test, or dogs that have alerted owners that there’s something wrong, leading to owners getting their cancer found and treated early.
Dogs are used routinely now to detect cancer in body samples, as well as their wonderful abilities to find explosives and contraband and in wildlife detection and to deter poaching.
I get a bit technical at times in this episode, but that’s because it’s so fascinating, the world of scent. We recorded this episode a while ago – now dogs are being successfully trained to detect COVID too.
