This week’s Talking Tip is all about why your dog stares at you.
I wander off into the origins of dogs and their differences from wolves as well as talking about how our dogs train us.
We chat about how following gaze and following pointing has contributed to our wonderful relationship with dogs and why we don’t have wolves as pets.
Most importantly, we talk about how you need to reward and encourage your dog to look at you – if your dog won’t look at you it’s difficult to train them to do anything.
You can find today’s Talking Tip here along with all the others from previous weeks.
Finally, please do write in and ask if you have a question you’d love us to answer. I want to make sure these Talking Tips are useful to you.
By the way, in the Tip, I mentioned our monthly nosework classes, which we’re hoping will restart soon. They are only open to our Devotees, so check out our great Devotee membership programme if you’re interested. Devotees also get weekly Rally classes and a range of online activities as well as priority access and discounts off all our courses.
Enjoy!
Have a good weekend,
Keep training and keep safe,
Carol
