Take a break – it’s important

It’s our wedding anniversary today. Himself has tolerated me and I him for 37 years (more if you count the two years prior to us being married). It’s scary how time flies…

This blog is a bit late going out today – we went for a gorgeous walk with Gus along the shore of Strangford Lough and remembered why we love this place so much. We are so lucky to live here. Both of us feel ready for a holiday, but as we looked at the scene across the Lough we realised that it’s exactly the sort of view one appreciates on holiday. It was just beautiful. And I needed the break, It’s been a bit hectic this week!

It’s important for your physical and mental health to take breaks from work. Working from home, I know just how tempting it is to keep working all the time and “just check the emails” and I’m certainly guilty of this at times. But it’s not an efficient way to work  – our brains function much better when we make sure there is plenty of downtime. Hence my break this morning and the late email…

Then I had to do some shopping for my mum and dad, and of course we stopped for a (socially distanced) chat, so we’re only just home now.

Keep training and keep safe,

Carol
