Oops, I dropped the ball…

Things just got a bit too busy yesterday, so I never got around to sharing the newest challenge – sorry.

The challenge was around food search games using pots and encouraging your dog to find which one has the food under. You can probably think of various ways to play that sort of game – and dogs never tire of it. I was so busy preparing our upcoming webinar and running our current online classes I simply forgot to write an email to you.

You’re probably a bit up and down at the moment like me. All this social distancing and worry is tiring and we’re all under strain. And to add to it I feel guilty about feeling down and emotional myself when so many people are doing so much to help others through and people are dying.

Today I want to give a big shout out to all the nurses doctors, healthcare staff, carers, food shop workers, delivery drivers, binmen, emergency service people and the many ordinary people who are all doing so much to try and help others through this difficult time.

Thank you all so much.

It’s a difficult time for us small business owners, too. There’s still a lot of uncertainly about if, when and whether we self-employed qualify for any government support, even though our usual face-to-face business income has dropped off a cliff. I’m really lucky because I have my pension, but Gareth and Catherine haven’t got that safety net. We’re moving everything possible online as fast as we can, in the hope we can keep supporting our clients too, but that in itself creates a lot of pressure.

Added to that is worry about my family as well as fitting in caring for my elderly parents.

Which is why I’m having a bit of a melt-down today.

Everything passes though, and I’ll be fine again tomorrow.

Just keep being kind to each other. A brief chat, post or message helps more than you know.

Keep training and keep safe,

Carol
