Chewing is a normal dog activity. It’s important for your dog’s mental health and it’s vital in helping keep teeth healthy.
Some dogs chew a lot more than others, just like some people love chewing gum regularly and others don’t bother. But chewing the household fixtures and fittings is an expensive hobby.
The most common reasons for excessive chewing are:
– boredom
– anxiety and
– separation distress.
Other reasons include:
– dietary imbalance, and
– pica – the desire to eat non-food items
