Have you got any resolutions?

New Year is a time of new beginnings. A new date change, a fresh year of possibilities, known and unknown activities and events to experience, a time of excitement and yes, sometimes a little trepidation.

I’m really good at remembering to use the correct year for the first few weeks – but by February I’ll usually make at least one mistake and use 2018 instead. Daft, eh? Is it just me?

So many of us make New Year decisions to make changes in our lives – to lose weight, to stop smoking, to get fitter, to read more, to play that musical instrument lying ignored in the corner…there are many common resolutions.

Unfortunately, although we all start off with determination and good intentions, most of us fall by the wayside pretty quickly, often by mid January (or even early January). But with eternal optimism we keep making those resolutions.

Down Dog has made its own New Year resolutions this year.

If you watched our Facebook Live at the end of November you’ll know that we’re planning to launch Down Dog Devotees, our new membership group.

We’re still finalising things, but we can tell you a few titbits so far.

– People who join will get a great welcome pack, with goodies for both canine and human.

– Down Dog Devotees will get a range of benefits, including free or reduced prices on our courses and classes, Down Dog Digest, our new print newsletter, and access to our members only web area and Facebook group.

– The members area will have an increasing range of training tips, podcasts and videos.

– You’ll also get free access to the webinars we have planned through next year.

In the meantime, if you haven’t yet had a chance, have a look at our new and better website.

We’ve got more options now for helping with behaviour problems with me, The Doggy Doctor. We’re still doing Home Visits of course, but we’re also now offering online Consultation Calls too.

And we launched our first online course, Wonderful Walkies, in November. It’s a much expanded version of the in-person course we used to offer, but of course you can do it at your own pace online. There’s still support from us both through the site and through a Facebook group too.

Happy New Year everyone

Carol
